part 2: My sister ripped the bridal bouquet from my 10-year-old daughter’s hands 009

Mia answered first.

“Yes.”

I looked at her.

She looked at me.

A tiny smile passed between us.

Donna threw her hands up.

“Wonderful. Fantastic. Everybody’s perfect except Donna.”

“No one said that,” Mom replied.

“You didn’t have to.”

Donna marched toward a nearby table and dropped Claire’s original bouquet onto it.

Several petals scattered across the white linen.

“There. Happy?”

Claire looked at the damaged flowers.

“No.”

Donna turned toward the exit.

“Donna,” my mother called.

My sister stopped.

Mom’s next words shocked everyone.

“You need to leave.”

Donna slowly turned.

“What?”

“This is Claire’s wedding.”

“Yes, and I’m family.”

“So is Mia.”

Donna laughed bitterly.

“You’re throwing me out because of a child’s tantrum?”

Claire stepped forward.

“No.”

Donna looked at her.

“I’m asking you to leave because of yours.”

Ben opened the ballroom doors.

No one moved.

No one defended Donna.
