“I’m here,” she answered from behind Mr. Palmer. Her voice shook, but she answered.
“That’s my girl. Stay where you are.”
Travis jerked again at the sound of her voice. I tightened the hold just enough to stop the movement. “You will remain still,” I told him. “When I release you, you will step away from my daughter and leave my property line. Do you understand?”
“No me das órdenes”.
“Then we can stay like this until the officers arrive.”
His body stiffened. Someone nearby had already called for help, which was the sensible response to a public threat involving a child.
Grant heard me and started talking faster. “This is ridiculous. Travis was joking. Everyone here knows he was joking.”

Natalie me miró. “Él planeó esto”, dijo. “Él ha estado hablando de ello durante dos semanas”.
